Coming from Muscat, Hormuz berthed on Duqm port with 168 passengers on board constituting the participants in the 5th Muscat Youth Forum which is held this year in Duqm. The fast ferry made the trip of 330 nautical miles through Sea of Oman and Arabian Sea in seven hours along the northern coasts of Ash Sharqiyah South and Al Wusta, and passing by Masirah Island. NFC's technical team noted that the first journey with Hormuz is a success. During the first quarter of 2014, NFC plans to launch ferry service from Shannah in the wilayat of Mahout, in Al Wusta Governorate, to Masirah Island in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate.
