NFC gets delivery of 2 ferries - Thursday, 06 February 2014

The National Ferries Company (NFC) received the two ferry boats Shana and Jawharat Masirah, that will operate at Shanna and Masirah maritime route. The two ferries are now anchored at Shanna port waiting for the technical tests on Shanna-Masirah route. Before being finally delivered, they will be subject to full technical inspection under the supervision of a technical team from National Ferries Company. The capacity of each of them is 24 vehicles, 4 trucks and 154 passengers.

The maximum speed for the two new ferries is 15 knots per hour. Each of the two boats, which hopefully will start service at Shanna-Masirah route next March, is provided with 4 engines. — ONA
