National Ferries reschedules cruises - Wednesday, 01 May 2013

A statement issued by the National Ferries Company (NFC) said on Monday that according to the Royal Directives of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said on the standardisation of weekends in the public and private sectors from May, the company will reschedule all cruises on all routes.

The statement said the new timings on Muscat-Khasab route would be on Sunday and Thursday while it would be on Tuesday and Saturday on Khasab-Muscat route and that all cruises will depart at 12 noon from May 5.

The company said passengers can check the new dates through communication with the liaison and booking offices of the company or by visiting its website.

The company hoped to strengthen its fleet in the coming period with the joining of Al Hallaniyat, which will work on Shinas-Khasab route four times a week to provide more options for the passengers, noting that Al Hallaniyat will conduct two voyages from the port of Shinas on Sunday and Thursday and two voyages from Khasab port on Tuesday and Saturday.

The ferry "Sawqrah" will work on Khasab-Lima route five times a week, which will ease movement of people of Lima to Khasab and easily get their work done during the week, especially on Sunday as the first day of work, where there will be a voyage back to Lima.

The new schedule includes a weekly direct voyage between Khasab-Lima-Shinas on Thursday which will connect Lima and Shinas and provide easy transportation, particularly to employees in Lima to North Al Batinah.
