NFC Crew Attends Training Program in Spain - Wednesday, 25 September 2013

As part of the plans adopted by the National Ferries Company (NFC) to enhance the skills of its national cadre, the company has recently dispatched a fresh batch of fast ferries crew to attend a formal training course in Spain. The training is within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed between the NFC and the service provider FRS to organize various advanced training courses in the various technical and operational matters.

Mr. Mahfoudh bin Mohamed Al Haremi, a specialist ferry crew, pointed out that the (NFC) since the launch of its operations in 2008, has continued to build the capacities of its staff with particular focus on the technical personnel working on the high-speed ferries. Customized training programs have been designed to suit the training needs of the company’s staff with a view to enhance and develop their skills. He asserted that the latest group of trainees constitutes batch No. 5 that includes 8 employees with the prospect of further batches slated for training.

Mr. Al Harami emphasized that the goal of the training process adopted by the company is to enable the company staff to acquire the necessary knowledge, expertise, and upgrade their technical and operational capacities to perform their duties competently and efficiently.

Mr. Al Harami expressed his hope that the employees will double their efforts to benefit from the training programs – something that will reflect positively on NFC's future operational activities. He added that this is especially important in view of the fact that the company has plans to operate new maritime lines such as Shannah - Masirah which is expected to be operational during the first quarter of next year.
