In recognition of his continued efforts towards supporting and promoting local tourism in the Sultanate, particularly maritime toiurism, Mr. Mehdi Al Abduwani, Chief Executive Officer of National Ferries Company (NFC), was honoured in Dubai, UAE on 25 April 2017 with this year’s award for Leading Arab Supporter for Tourism Service. The Award was given by the “ArabCenter for Tourism Media” during the annual celebration of Arab Tourism Media Oscar Awards

The National Ferries Company (NFC) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) have announced the construction of a ramp at the port in Lima in Khasab. The ramp will help aid entry and exit of cars to and off the ferries.

Passenger traffic and cargo on ferries increased during the first quarter of 2017 compared with the same period in 2016. Statistics from the company indicated that the number of passengers on board of ferries increased during the first three months of 2017 by 5 percent to reach 54,544 compared to 51,824 passengers during the same period last year.

National Ferries Company SAOC and Shell Oman Marketing Company SAOG have entered into an agreement for supply and delivery of Marine Gas Oil to NFC’s fleet of vessels at all the ports in which NFC currently operates in the Sultanate of Oman. The bunkering agreement between Shell Oman and NFC is for a period of 3 years.
